{The Rite Stuff x Codina Leather} Peerless Early-1930s-style Vintage Buckle Edge-creased Belt (Havana Brown)
Peerless: All that the name implies. Given the rareness of the vintage early 1930s buckle we’ve chosen for this belt, we feel safe to say that there’s nothing else quite like it being made today because no other belt is being made with this hard-to-find buckle.
The buckle
The hardware in question is a new-old-stock (NOS) vintage early 1930s buckle with hand helsmmeted effect made in USA by the famed North & Judd hardware manufacturer founded in 1812 by Alvin North in New Britain, Connecticut to make saddlery hardware. North & Judd hardware wwas used by US troops during the Civil War, the Spanish-American War, and World War I.
The leather
For the Peerless belt we’ve selected a Hermann Oak English bridle leather that’s vegetable-tanned and drum dyed in St. Louis, Missouri. The 1 3/4” tall leather strap is a period-correct thickness and is neither bulky nor obtrusive. These belts also have the backs hand waxed with beeswax for a cleaner finish. At times you’ll forget you’re even wearing a belt, in a good way.
The details
Rounding out the Peerless belt are hand-done edge creases, a leather keeper, and hand-pressed ink brand stamps on the back.
And last but not least, the Stampede belt is made in the heart of the West in Las Vegas, Nevada.
