Beneath the Waves of Sleep - Fall/Winter 2026

Beneath the Waves of Sleep is a look into the thin borderline between out terrestrial life and the sea, our waking hours and those of sleep, the towns of industry and those dedicated to study, between the fleeting and the infinite, between peacetime and a coming wartime, between what America was and what it would become.

Fall and winter are a time of decay, of gloom, darkness, and cold. However, in them is time for introspection, for a quieting of the mind and the rekindling of something more primeval, detached from the passion and ego of spring and summer.

I was inspired to start this collection around Tweeduroy, a fabric that I have numerous vintage examples in my collection. It might seem timeless but it was forgotten for decades and was only truly recently revived in Japan. I’ve spent the better part of two years studying it and the history of its inventor, Hockmeyer Co. Speckled, sturdy, and practical, it lured me just as our protagonist was drawn to the sea and visions of the murky deep beyond.
