{The Rite Stuff x Codina Leather} Peerless Early-1930s-style Vintage Buckle Edge-creased Belt (Ink Black)

Peerless: All that the name implies. A gleaming, hand-hammered artifact from a different age, plucked from a trove of forgotten artifacts, unvarnished by time, a peerless buckle that’s simply not made anymore, now given new life.

The buckle

The hardware in question is a new-old-stock (NOS) vintage early 1930s buckle with hand hammered effect made in USA by the famed North & Judd hardware manufacturer founded in 1812 by Alvin North in New Britain, Connecticut to make saddlery hardware. North & Judd hardware was used by US troops during the Civil War, the Spanish-American War, and World War I.

The leather

For the Peerless belt we’ve selected a Hermann Oak English bridle leather that’s vegetable-tanned and drum-dyed in St. Louis, Missouri. The 1 3/4” tall leather strap is hefty enough to have presence without being bulky or obtrusive in the least. At times you’ll forget you’re even wearing a belt, in a good way. These belts also have the backs hand waxed with beeswax for a cleaner finish. 

The details

Rounding out the Peerless belt are hand-done edge creases, twin leather keepers, and hand-pressed brand stamps on the front and back. 

And last but not least, the Stampede belt is made in the heart of the West in Las Vegas, Nevada by famed leather artisan, Matt Codina of Codina Leather.

Sizing:

To determine your size, take your usual pants size and add 2”-3” inches, that’s your belt size. If you’re a 34 waist, for example, order a size 36 belt.
