The whistle of the train. Steam curling into the cold morning air. Wheels digging in as the locomotive chugs through dark pines. At last, the railhead comes into view, where the derricks rise and the long day begins. The Railhead Shirt honors the grit of the men who kept the trains moving, who kept the engines of industry on time and on track.

The Railhead is cut from 5 oz. selvedge salt and pepper mock twist chambray, milled in Japan. The enamel painted metal buttons are also made in Japan and are designed to age and patina with honest wear.

This shirt is a faithful reproduction of an early 1930s Washington Dee Cee work shirt in the Rite Stuff archives. It includes a pencil slot and a watch pocket compartment, along with an extra buttonhole on the placket for securing a watch chain and T bar. The opposite pocket is a bellows style with a flap, built to guard whatever you carry.

The collar has a period correct shape and length, along with a traditional chinstrap extension. The cuffs are sewn with single needle construction, a detail often found on shirts made before 1930. All major seams are triple stitched for strength, and the bottom side seams are finished with selvedge gussets.

Designed for movement, the Railhead offers roomy armholes, generous sleeves, and comfortable cuffs. It is a shirt built for long days, rough work, and the kind of men who finish what they start.
