[Vintage] - US Navy CPO Wool Shirt, sz. 14, c. 1940s
Often imitated, but sometimes nothing beats the original wool USN CPO shirt. Named after the US Navy's Chief Petty Officer, this "coat style" button down wool shirt was created in the 1930s for cold-weather service. However, proto-CPO shirts in pullover form had existed since the 1910s. Despite its name, the CPO shirt was not limited to just Chief Petty Officers. These days they're not limited to strict militaria either, and have found a home in everyday, street wear as an easy overshirt that matches with most anything.
This particular model is the from the 1940s and likely saw use in World War II, though its wearer's name has faded off. In a sense, it's ready for new memories now, with a new owner.
